3 day Textile Taster Workshop

The Textile Taster worskhop gives you the opportunity to try your hand at a number of different textile processes.  If you have little or no  experience of textiles, and are interested in finding out more, this is perfect for you.  The main aim of this course  is to give you an introduction to various textile techniques, (but by no means conclusive  ) so you can be more informed.  This workshopwill be quite intensive, covering a lot of ground in a short space of time.

Techniques include:

Transfer Printing - transfer colour and pattern onto fabric via transfer dyes , paper and heat.   You will use resists and mark making techniques to create interesting patterns and images.

Basic Feltmaking - the the basic technique of feltmaking.  Create a simple picture or piece of felt.

Basic Screen Printing - Create a paper stencil, followed by printing onto fabric.

Dyeing - space dyeing, tie dyeing, shibori dyeing using procion and acid dyes.

Silk/ fabric Painting - simple painting onto fabric.
